As the uproar over the ownership scandal has taught us, selecting high scoring players who are owned in less than 10% of lineups in your contest is key to constructing a winning lineup.
While not all of us are lucky enough to have the inside info, we can infer which players will not be popular plays during Week 5 with a simple examination. Using FanDuel information from the Thursday Night contests can prove useful in determining ownership levels.
Just make sure that you are using a contest with over 100,000 entries to draw your samples. Drawing from a large pool of players, you can assume that the thought processes will remain the same when selecting players for the contests which start on Sunday. The percentages may vary a few points either way, but by and large a player that is owned by 25% of the Thursday lineups will be owned in 20+% of lineups for contests starting on Sunday.
