The modern game of golf can be traced to the Middle Ages, with Scotland laying claim to the invention. Variations of the game can be found in early Middle-Dutch manuscripts, where references to a game of ball with club can be found as far back as the 11th century. At that time the game was known as ‘colf’, it took on it’s current form of ‘golf’ at some point during the 15th century.
Written accounts of the game in Scotland go back as far as 1672, when lawyer Sir John Foulis of Ravelston recorded that he played a round of golf at Musselburgh Links. This account is cited as proof that the Musselburgh Links is the oldest playing golf course in the world. Of course none of this will be of any help when making daily fantasy golf projections, but it’s interesting nonetheless. While knowledge of the courses of yore won’t help you win, understanding the factors facing modern golfers definitely will.
Fantasy Golf Picks
Understanding the layout of a tournament course is an absolute must when projecting fantasy points. Knowing if the course favors a long driver or an accurate one, a good short game or strong putting are the first steps towards making winning fantasy golf picks. On some courses the longest guys; Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson will be the best DFS play. On other courses, where the fairway isn’t as wide, you want to target accurate drivers with slightly than better length, the Hunter Mahan’s and BIlly Horschel’s of the world.
Our lineups identify all of these value situations, looking for and identifying players that will make the cut while at the same time making you money. If you use our suggestions in 50/50’s, make the cut they will, as our low ceiling safety plays will have you in the top half of every contest.

You’ll be the ‘Ty Webb’ of GPP play, making everyone think you’re a golf savant like Chevy Chase’s character in the movie Caddyshack.
Never played golf? Not a problem. As Doctors we spend the majority of our time outside of the clinic on the course, honing our game to club champion levels. You can take advantage of this expertise from the 19th hole, calmly sipping an ice cold drink while your bankroll multiplies.
Daily Fantasy PGA Strategy
Like any other DFS contest, you have to prove yourself a cunning competitor to succeed when entering a golf tournament. We find a strong correlation between price and ownership levels from completed contests that we’ve examined. Our daily fantasy PGA strategy highlights players who we anticipate will be left off of rosters as a result of their high salaries.
When entering a guaranteed tournament value is found in low ownership levels as much as it is in high fantasy scores. Our projections play into this theory, identifying low ownership high upside players that can help you win the giant check we all strive for.
